Sand is a material commonly found near the shore or any natural body of Water, and can be gathered using the pickaxe tool, after which it can be used to sculpt the enviornment and build structures, such as caves or houses, etc. At the current stage in the game's development, no minerals can be found within sand.

When sand is placed by dirt it creates a blending effect which is still present after dirt is removed.
